About Jess

Jess Carr-Walker and her family on the beach

Becoming a doula was a natural step for me.

Welcome and thank you for being here! My name is Jess Carr-Walker and I’m a passionate doula on the Sunshine Coast, fortunate to have my calling as my work.

I’m the lucky mother of four extraordinary children. With my family, we’ve been living in gorgeous Yaroomba since 2012 and absolutely love it.

I was born in Colombia, from a Colombian mum and a French dad. I had an amazing childhood, traveling a lot and learning different languages and cultures. Having had such a diverse and rich upbringing enabled me to fluently speak 4 languages, Spanish, French, English & Italian.

When I found out I was pregnant at a young age, I felt a deep sense of excitement and readiness for the journey ahead. My body, full of vitality and strength gave me the confidence that I could take on the challenges of childbirth with courage and resilience.

Becoming a mother at 21 was one of my greatest sources of pride. The labour and birth were incredibly challenging, especially in an environment where I had no support. But when I emerged from my first birth, I was changed forever, I felt empowered and ready to do it again.

I couldn’t, however, shake the feeling that the maternity system didn’t believe in me. That moment marked a turning point. From that day forward, I made it my mission to be the one who believes in a mother’s strength, the one who stands by their side, the one who provides unwavering support and never lets them down.

Nearly 15 years and three babies later, I made the decision to study and officially become a doula. It became clear, that my purpose was to embody the feminine presence; someone with a mission to offer unconditional love and passion, supporting mothers on their unique and beautiful journeys, through motherhood.
